What happens if 14 year olds get axcess to hot liquid glass, professional glassblowers and studio time?
Super Is As Super Does!
Super is a project I started in 2004 and it is my contribution to try and save glassblowing from disapearing in Scandinavia.
Because of outsorcing and machine made glass people hardly know the difference between a hand made and a machine made glass anymore.
I want to make the material glass more available to the youth generation, let them play around with it, and get to know this amazing liquid.
Super is lets 13 to 15 year olds design whatever they want in glass. A jury chooses the most interesting ideas and they are invited to a workshop in the glass studio where we blow their drawings to life. The whole class comes along and they all get to try glassblowing and make little things when they visit in the studio.
After the workshop is finishes they make an exebithion in their school.
This year Super Is was a part of "Den Kulturelle Skolesekken" wich allows us to reach out to a large number of young, talented and exighting youth.
The goal is also to create an interesting cultural meeting between people, and open a door into the creative world!
